About Mary
Mary Castro is a Digital Marketing/Communications creative who has recently moved to Miami, Florida. So far in her career, Mary has used her skill set to gain experience with iHeart Radio, Harry Chapin Food Bank, Champions For Learning, Habitat for Humanity, and Royal Shell Reality. By working with these companies, Mary has gained knowledge in marketing, non-profits, community/customer engagement, retail, storytelling, social media, advertising, website management, and e-mail marketing. Currently, Mary is working remotely with Royal Shell Reality managing multiple social media accounts for their clients.
Mary displays a great deal of skills, which include being detail-oriented, a great multi-tasker, very deadline-oriented, a team player and knows how to manage her time to give each client/project the energy they deserve.

From an internship at iHeartRadio to her current role at Royal Shell Reality, Mary has written editorial/blog posts that cover a wide spectrum. Such as student highlights, donor biographies, concert reviews, and much more. Through these experiences, Mary has learned the importance of knowing what a brand wants and how to connect with the target audience. One of the things that she enjoys most about interviewing people is genuinely connecting with the person. She prides herself on making the interviewee feel comfortable and aims to have a genuine conversation with them.

Featured Champion
Click here to read one of Mary’s featured champions. The featured champions were highlighted and celebrated at a fundraising gala called “Night of Champions”. After interviewing the many champions, 15+, Mary would then write up a short bio. This bio would be used on all social media accounts, in the event’s program, and on their “Champion Award”. The Champion Award was given to each Champion on the night of the gala.

Donor Highlight

Press Releases
Mary has also been in charge of writing, editing, and distributing press releases. These press releases would be originally written by Mary and then sent out to upper management to be approved before it was in-market. Prior to writing the release, Mary would have to plan out the schedule of the release in advance. This included the writing process, scheduling interviews, approval time, and in-market date. Once approved, the press release would then be distributed to a list of local newspapers, news stations, magazines, and blogs.
